Bwindi National Park
Designated as a world heritage site, Bwindi National Park is one of the most popular national parks in Uganda being home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Strategically situated on the edge of the Albertine Rift, the impenetrable forest is home to 459 gorillas which is half the population of gorillas left in the world. Other species in the park include 120 mammal species, 310 species of birds, 200 tree species, 310 butterfly species among others which you can easily encounter on guided nature walks and hikes.

Murchison Falls National Park
Uganda’s largest and oldest national park is staddling across 4 districts namely Nwoya, Buliisa, Kiryandongo & Masindi which is the closest town to the park. Home to an astonishing 76 mammal species & up to 451 species of birds, Murchison Falls Park is one of the best safari destinations for 4×4 game drives, birding and launch trips. A launch cruise to the fall’s bottom and hike to the top of the falls is considered the highlight of any safari in Murchison falls park. Kibale forest
Kibale forest is believed to be one of the last remaining expanses containing both lowland and montane forests spanning up to 766 km2. Forming a continuous forest with Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kibale Forest is home to 13 species of primates offering exciting primate walks and the best alternative to the expensive gorilla trekking adventures in Bwindi. Uganda is home to 4950 chimpanzees and Kibale contains up to 1500 individuals plus old word monkey species like the Baboon, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, black & white colobus monkey, L’hoest monkey, red-tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys among others.

Queen Elizabeth National Park
Spanning districts of Kasese, Rubirizi, Rkungiri & Kamwenge approximately 400 km southwest of Kampala is Queen Elizabeth National Park- one of the most popular national parks in Uganda and named after the late Queen Elizabeth II. It is adjoined to the Kibale forest & Kyambura Game reserve =which itself adjoins to Kigezi game reserve offering tourists amazing game drives, boat rides, birding and primate trekking adventures. The park is home to over 95 mammal species, up to 600 bird species and captivating volcanic features that include volcanic cones and deep craters like Katwe explosion craters.
