Jinja is located in the Eastern side of Uganda, busoga sub-region. Jinja sits along the northern shores of lake Victoria and near the source of the Nile. Jinja is 80km from Kampala the capital city of Uganda. Travel time is 1 hour from Kampala.
The population is 471,242 people according to the Uganda national population and housing census 2014.
The economic activities in Jinja include; Banking, Sugar manufacturing, Brewery, steel making, Clothe making and oil refining.

Tourist attractions in Jinja include:
River Nile, which is world’s longest river, it flows from lake victoria to Mediterranean Sea.
Bujagali falls, is believed to be the source of river Nile and its an attraction for bird watching, rafting and scenery.
Itanda falls, it has forest islands in its center and its best for picnics, camping and bird watching like weaver birds.
Kyabirwa Falls, it’s scenery for campsites, birding and ethno botany.
